Get to know the Petersham Nurseries Cafe wine list - Saturday 15th October
Join us for a morning of wine tasting, as Petersham Nurseries Cafe expert sommelier, Jack Lewens reveals the philosophy and inspiration behind our restaurant wine list.
During the morning Jack will introduce our wine ethos, inviting you to sample a selection of delicious and diverse wines from our wine list each of which has been handpicked to harmoniously match the seasonal dishes of our head chef Skye Gyngell’s weekly changing menus.
Jack will touch on which producers he likes to work with and why, alongside new trends in wine making – why natural and biodynamic wines are making their mark right now. Crucially we will discuss food and wine matching, an important element when pairing wines with the fresh and vibrant flavours of Skye’s menus.
We are also delighted to welcome Patrick Sandeman, from Lea and Sandeman wine merchants, a long time supplier to the Nurseries. Patrick will be joining in the discussions and offering advice for a good tipple.
The tasting will run from 11.30am to 1pm, however we welcome attendees to join us for lunch afterwards. We have 18 places available at our communal table, where Jack and Patrick will host a set lunch with wine suggestions - a real chance to see why we think Jack is such a great asset to the Nurseries!
