New stock, just arrived
We have recently taken delivery of a beautiful range of new Camellias. The plants are all British grown with good leaf colour and well budded. They range in size from approx 50 to 120cm.
Growing camellias is very simple.
Camellias grow and produce the best flowers in filtered sun or partial shade. In too much sun they may suffer scald on the leaves, or the leaves may appear yellow rather than deep green, for this reason try to avoid east-facing positions.
They prefer a moist but well-drained, humus-rich slightly acidic soil about pH 6 or ericaceous compost for container grown specimens.
General care
To prevent damage to the emerging buds and flowers protect from cold, dry winds and early morning sun. Water established plants in dry weather to prevent bud drop. Apply a balanced liquid fertiliser in mid-spring and again in June. Top-dress annually with shredded bark or well-rotted leaf mould. After flowering lightly trim or prune any branches that spoil the appearance of the plant.
